Instant Poem /

An imaginative and humorous duet of movement and sound, with many theatrical and musical elements, based on improvisation and interaction with the young audience, led by the narration of a unique fairytale.
Two narrators, Nikoleta Xaneriou (dancer) and Martha Mavroidi (musician) utilize body movement and sounds produced by the human voices to unfold images and stories that no other fairytale could hold!
In Wordless Fairytale, the narrative potential of music and dance is fused with the imagination and spontaneity of children. The musician, using her voices and a loop station, records and reproduces her vocals on the spot, thus creating rich-timbre environments and multiple levels of sound through polyphonic techniques. Within these soundscapes, the dancer employs movement improvisation techniques to translate sound into movement.
The performers interact with each other and with the members of the young audience, maintaining a discreet balance between action and reaction. The children move freely within the project’s space, thus contributing with their movement and sounds in the development of the fairytale’s narrative.
