What if instruments would be interconnected? What if they need each other to produce sound? Sound is transported from one instrument to another, as it were. Within this spectrum of sounds, the flow of air is central. The addition of everyday objects creates surprising sound colours and textures, they act as an extension of the instrument.
Together, Nathalie Van Meirvenne and Suzan Peeters form duo NAAN. They explore their instruments from different angles. In doing so, they also enter into dialogue with everyday objects that expand the sound possibilities of their instrument. They are still surprised daily by new discoveries. Although improvisation is key, old folk melodies are the starting point of this subtle music room.
