Fonetica is made of a tangle of PVC pipes. They disappear under a wooden platform and reappear elsewhere to culminate in a sound cup that towers above you. Fonetica is above all a musical playground that invites you to blow, hit, sing, whisper, listen, rub and make music. This can be enjoyed alone or with other casual visitors.
In his book The Invisible Cities, Italo Calvino performed the deserted city of Armilla. You could only see sanitary pipes and hear the singing of nymphs there. This fascinating place was the inspiration for the makers of Tiptoe Company for their latest installation.
