The children of the Ledebirds in Ghent get to work with the Mexican musician Israel Alonso and artists of MetX. They will be immersed in the ‘Día de Muertos’ tradition, a Mexican celebration honoring death.
Usually, the NOMAD project takes place during our BIG BANG Festival. The pandemic may have postponed the project, but that did not mean the end! Finally, the date of the performance is confirmed. The result of this special collaboration will be presented in a parade at the Ledebronx community festival, 28 of august.
NOMAD focuses on the cultural wealth of the contemporary city. A professional musician creates together with a group of children. The children’s musical talents and cultural influences merge with those of the musician. BIG BANG provides a stage for the results.
