„Hver vill hugga Krílið“ by Olivier Manoury is written for childrens choirs, orchestra and a storyteller. It is based on a story by Tove Jansson translated by Þórarinn Eldjárn.
It tells the story of a little boy living in the forest who is extremely shy. He does not have the courage to make friends with anyone until one day he meets a little girl who is even more afraid of life than him. That gives him courage and the story ends with them sailing away on a boat with fairy-creatures. The fear makes way for joy and friendship. Krílið and Stráið comfort each other, now they have made friends!
The colourful pictures by Tove Jansson being projected during the performance, add to the adventurous atmosphere of the piece.
